What You Get From a One Hour Massage

For most people, money is the biggest obstacle to getting regular massage, which is a considerable budget item.  We know this because we walk the walk and get regular massage. If we expect you to budget $90 for a massage every week, month or quarter, it's our job to tell you what you're buying.  

So here it is:

A FULL HOUR

1 hour = 60 minutes

The clock doesn't start until your Massage Therapist walks in the room and actually begins the massage.  That's not the case for every business.  Some places operate on a 50 minute hour.  

At Halfmoon Massage, treatments last exactly as long as indicated

 (unless you arrive late, then we may have to adjust accordingly).

EASE OF SCHEDULING

Scheduling tends to be the second biggest obstacle to getting regular massage.  You can schedule with us 24/7 online.  If you don't see a time that works for you, leave a message at our office and we will try to accommodate, or we'll suggest someone in our office whose schedule is more suited to yours.

ATTENTION

You get full attention from your Massage Therapist.  For one hour, you are the superstar!  You are the reason we're in the room.  Need silence?  We can do that.  Want more time spent on your feet?  Sure, not a problem.  You get full attention.  No phone.  No demands.  Just you.

EXPERIENCE

Our Massage Therapists have had years of practice and many hours of training and continuing education.  They were all just a prep for your massage!   We've got pillows and support cushions to keep you cozy laying on your side if you can't lay on your belly.  Or if your shoulder hurts when you lay on your stomach.  Or if your knee feels weird in any position...we will get you cozy so you can fully relax and enjoy your massage.

CLINICAL PRUDENCE
We won't practice any techniques that are unsafe for you and your health condition.  In general, people on blood thinners should not get deep tissue massage.  Same for people in treatment for cancer. 

It's also unwise to do aggressive stretching on pregnant women.  These are called contraindications and we don't mess around with them.  The downside is that we may turn you away, but that's rare.  

We can usually find a technique that is safe and effective for your situation.

PROPER LICENSING

There are plenty of Massage Therapists offering discounted massage, operating under the radar.  

They may not have a practitioner license.  All of our therapists are NYS licensed, insured and fully operate under the laws set forth by the state.

REFERRALS

A massage with us gets you connections with all the practitioners we know...and that's a lot of people!  If massage isn't helping your tendonitis/backache/anxiety, we'll help you find the right acupuncturist, PT or counselor.
